[Day 3][First Poem]: “A Wealth Of Time”

A clock is no one

neither slave nor master

it is a number line

that is ever marching

Towards the passage of time

the only wealth we have

to love, to cherish, to waste, to long for

It’s value  bows neither gold nor spirit

Not to the outrage of mice, Not to the speculation of men

It bows to the absence of hope

Of never returning to where we long to be, Of never seeing again faces filled with love

To never again be young, foolish, in love, or mad

The lady may protest and lawyer may call foul

but time commands its own value and promises no returns

Today’s addition to the play list is— Massive Attack – “Karmacoma”
